I've been re-reading my LS books and I noticed that none of the baby-sitters ever baby-sit Karen like they do in the BSC books. I thought it was weird how someone is always home with her, although the BSC gets plenty of phone calls to babysit the family, and you never really hear about the Baby-sitters Club unless Kristy is leaving for a meeting,

Karen's Magic Garden was a favourite LS of mine, and one I used to read rather often. The basis of the story is that Karen, Lisa, Seth and Andrew head to Maine for a family reunion for Lisa's side of the family (and eat a lot of lobster). And this extract from the beginning of chapter 3 always sounded strange to me:
